“Journalists Assaulted While Doing Their Job — IPC Demands Justice”

In a firm stand for press freedom and human rights, the International Press Centre (IPC) has strongly condemned the reported attacks on journalists covering the #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.According to the IPC, journalists performing their constitutional duty to inform the public should never become victims of violence or intimidation. Such assaults not only endanger individual reporters but also strike at the very heart of democracy and free expression.

“An attack on the press is an attack on truth itself,” the IPC declared, urging authorities to investigate the incidents, hold the perpetrators accountable, and ensure journalists can work without fear.

Because when journalists are silenced, the people’s right to know dies with them  and democracy loses its voice.
