Media Watchdog Seeks A.P. CM’s Intervention to Uphold Journalists’ Rights

The Press Club of India (PCI) has urged the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister to stop police actions targeting journalists, following reports of harassment and legal intimidation.
The PCI emphasized that journalists are defenders of democracy, not its enemies, and called for a fearless environment for the press to operate freely.
Reaffirming that press freedom is a cornerstone of democracy, the PCI urged the government to protect journalists’ rights and uphold constitutional values.
Media bodies nationwide echoed the call, reminding that protecting journalists means protecting democracy itself.
