“Attack on One Journalist Is an Attack on Truth Itself.”

On the night of October 16–17, 2025, a bomb exploded outside the home of Italian investigative journalist Sigfrido Ranucci in Campo Ascolano, near Rome.
The explosive device, planted near his gate, destroyed his car and damaged his daughter’s, who had luckily left moments earlier.
No one was injured, but the blast shook the neighborhood.

Ranucci — known for exposing mafia links, corruption, and organized crime — has long been under police protection. Authorities are investigating the attack as a possible mafia-style intimidation.
The incident sparked nationwide outrage, with Italy’s leaders condemning it as a direct attack on press freedom and democracy.
